ROPE CLIMB CHALLENGE
Rules
The ORKA Rope Climb Challenge is a functional strength competition designed to test:
- Upper body strength
- Grip endurance
- Climbing technique
- Repeated performance under fatigue
Athletes compete by completing maximum valid rope climbs within a fixed time, under strict verification standards.
COMPETITION FORMAT
Max Climbs in 3 Minutes
- Continuous attempt for 3 minutes
- Athlete may rest (timer continues running)
- Goal: Complete maximum valid climbs
EQUIPMENT STANDARDS
To ensure fairness, all attempts must follow:
- Rope Length: 15 feet
- Rope Thickness: 1.5 – 2 inches
- Anchor: Secure and fixed
- Surface: Non-slippery
- Safety Mat: Mandatory
SETUP REQUIREMENTS
- Clear climbing space
- Marked start point (ground)
- Marked top touch point (mandatory)
- Camera positioned to capture full rope and athlete
VIDEO SUBMISSION RULES
- Single-take video (no cuts or edits)
- Full rope and athlete visible at all times
- Top touch point clearly visible
- Timer visible in frame
Only verified videos will be accepted
VALID CLIMB (COUNTS AS 1 REP)
A climb is valid only if:
- Athlete starts from ground
- Climbs using rope
- Clearly touches the top marker
- Returns to ground under control
NO REP (INVALID CLIMB)
A climb will NOT count if:
- Top marker is not reached
- Partial climb only
- Jump start or assisted start
- Sliding down without control
- Unsafe or improper technique
SCORING SYSTEM
Final Score = Total Valid Climbs in 3 Minutes
- Only fully completed climbs are counted
- Incomplete climbs at time end will NOT count
TRAINING PARTNER RESPONSIBILITY
- Provide standard rope setup
- Ensure athlete safety
- Record and upload attempt
- Maintain fair conditions
DISTRICT AMBASSADOR RESPONSIBILITY
Verify:
- Climb validity
- Safety compliance
- Video authenticity
Final authority on score approval
SAFETY GUIDELINES (MANDATORY)
- Warm-up before attempt
- Proper grip and technique required
- Use of safety mat is compulsory
- Stop immediately if injury risk arises

Top athletes qualify for State, National & Internatinal Championships
DISQUALIFICATION
Participants may be disqualified for:
- Edited or manipulated videos
- Unsafe practices
- Misrepresentation of performance
- Violation of equipment standards
