1. Official Rules
The Orka Kabaddi League (OKL) represents a new era in modern Kabaddi—where traditional strength meets strategic innovation. Designed for athletes, fans, and global sports communities, OKL delivers a high-intensity format that elevates the sport’s excitement while maintaining its core identity. Every match is built on discipline, precision, and unmatched athletic performance, offering a world-class experience for players and spectators alike. This rulebook outlines the official guidelines that ensure fair play, transparency, and safety throughout the league. These rules protect the integrity of Kabaddi while introducing unique OKL elements that make the game faster, smarter, and more competitive. All players, coaches, officials, and teams are required to follow the regulations listed below to maintain the spirit and professionalism of the Orka Kabaddi League.
1.1 Duration
- Each match is divided into two halves of 20 minutes each.
- 5-minute halftime break.
1.2 Team Composition
- 7 players on the court at a time.
- 5 substitutes on the bench.
- Minimum 10 players must be registered for a match.
1.3 Toss
- A coin toss decides which team raids first.
- The winning captain chooses raid or court side.
2.1 Raid Points
- A raid begins when the raider enters the opponent’s half.
- A raider scores 1 point per valid touch on a defender.
- Bonus line point available if:
- > 6 or more defenders are on court, and
- > Raider crosses bonus line with correct stance.
2.2 Tackle Points
- Defenders earn 1 point for successfully stopping a raider.
- Multiple defenders stopping the raider = 1 team point, not individual.
2.3 All-Out
- If all defending players are out, the raiding team earns:
- > 2 additional points,
- > Opponent team is revived fully.
2.4 Self-Out Rules
- Raider is out if:
- > Steps out of boundary without contact.
- > Breaks cant (\"OKL Breath Rule\") before touching a defender.
- > Gets caught by defenders.
3.1 Impact Raid (Exclusive OKL Feature)
- Each team gets one Impact Raid per half.
- In an Impact Raid:
- All raid points = double (×2)
- If defenders stop the raider, they get +1 bonus tackle point
- Impact Raid must be declared before crossing midline
- Purpose:
- To create high-pressure, game-changing moments.
3.2 Speed Raid Shot Clock
- Each raid must finish within 30 seconds.
- Digital countdown displayed in the arena.
- Exceeding time = automatic self-out.
3.3 Power Play Revival
- Once per match, each team can activate Power Play Revival, reviving 2 extra players instantly after scoring a raid/tackle point.
3.4 Golden Clash (Tie-breaker)
- If match ends in a tie:
- Golden Clash Rules:
- 3-minute extra round
- Each team gets equal raids
- If still tied → Sudden Death Raid
4.1 Age Requirement
- Player must be 18+ by 31 March 2026.
- Minimum date of birth allowed: 31 March 2008.
4.2 Physical Fitness
- Mandatory medical & fitness clearance before participation.
4.3 Registration Requirements
- Government ID proof
- Player registration form
- Video trials (for new players)
- Contract approval with team management
5.1 Allowed
- Upto 5 substitutions per match.
- Substituted player can re-enter once revived.
5.2 Not Allowed
- No substitution during an active raid
- No substitution during tie-breaker phases
6.1 Common Fouls
- Jersey pulling
- Holding raider after whistle
- Arguing with referees
- Use of offensive language
- Charging without intent to retreat
6.2 Penalties
- 1-point penalty to offending team
- Player suspension (30 seconds) for aggressive misconduct
- Red-card for dangerous or unsportsmanlike behavior (player banned for match)
Officials include:
- 2 On-court referees
- 1 Match commissioner
- 2 Line umpires
- 1 Scoring panel
- 1 Timekeeper
- Referees’ decisions are final.
8.1 Team Challenges
- Each team gets one challenge per half.
- Lost challenge = challenge gone.
- Successful challenge = challenge retained.
8.2 What Can Be Challenged
- Touch validity
- Boundary violations
- Bonus line disputes
- Timing disputes
All players must:
- Show sportsmanship on and off court
- Respect teammates, referees & audience
- Follow league rules strictly
- Wear approved OKL gear only
- Violation can lead to fines, suspension, or removal from league.
- Random tests conducted any time
- Zero tolerance for banned substances
- Violations may lead to season-long bans
- Players must use league-approved gear
- Immediate suspension from match if injured
- First-aid & medical team available courtside
- Concussion protocol mandatory after head injury
- A dedicated OKL committee handles:
- Player disputes
- Team complaints
- Misconduct hearings
- Fine enforcement
13.1 Only Registered Players Can Attend Trials
- No walk-ins
- No on-spot entries
- Only players with verified OKL Player ID allowed
13.2 Trial Evaluation Criteria
- Players evaluated on:
- Raiding Skill
- Defensive Power
- Speed & Agility
- Stamina & Fitness
- Game Awareness
- Discipline
13.3 Trial Check-In System
- QR Code Entry
- ID Verification
- No duplicate entry allowed
- Used for trial ranking & player draft list.
14.1 Game Performance (60%)
- Successful Raid: +10
- Touch Point: +5
- Successful Tackle: +15
- Bonus Line: +5
- Escape: +10
- All-Out Participation: +10
- Discipline: +5
14.2 Social Performance (30%)
- Profile Likes: +1
- Shares: +2
- Trial Video Uploads: +5
- Daily Fan Votes: +2
- Weekly Votes: +10
14.3 Referrals (10%)
- Invite New Player: +5
- Invite Fan: +1
14.4 Final OPP Formula
- OPP Score = (Game × 0.60) + (Social × 0.30) + (Referrals × 0.10)
14.5 Weekly Training / Game Video Upload
- Players may upload weekly videos of:
- Training sessions
- Kabaddi drills
- Match highlights
- Fitness workouts
- Points Awarded:
- Weekly Upload: +10 points
- Monthly Featured Video: +50 points
- Rules:
- 1. Maximum 4 uploads per month eligible for scoring.
- 2. Video must be original and recorded within the same week.
- 3. Video duration: 1–5 minutes.
- 4. Must include player’s face and Player ID number.
- 5. Videos must be uploaded through the OKL Portal.
- 6. No background music or copyrighted audio allowed.
- 7. Video must not be uploaded on any other platform (exclusive to OKL).
- After trials + OPP ranking, players enter OKL Bid Pool.
Category A – Elite
- Bid Start: $35,000
- Top performers
Category B – Advanced
- Bid Start: $20,000
Category C – Developing
- Bid Start: $10,000
Category D – Emerging
- Bid Start: $6,000
16.1 Post-Trials
- OPP scores uploaded to dashboard
- Leaderboards updated daily
16.2 Combine Round
- Fitness tests
- Live matches
- Coach evaluations
16.3 Draft Placement
- Players placed in A–D categories
- Draft event with all teams selecting players
- Immediate disqualification for:
- Fake documents
- Age fraud
- Misconduct
- Doping
- Attempt to influence officials
- Non-registered entry
- All players must agree:
